The purpose of Cultivar
Wine drinkers are presented with a myriad of ethical choices: organic, biodynamic, biologique, sustainable, “clean”, “natural” , fairtrade, carbon neutral and eco-friendly produced wines. The wine industry uses these various categories to educate, differentiate their products and create the perception of added value by describing their environmentally friendly and socially responsible practices. However, we often find ourselves confused and occasionally misled. In fact, most of us don’t know much at all about how wine is made let alone understand the rules, regulations and processes surrounding winemaking practices. With this in mind, Cultivar Magazine was born. Our mission is to explore, understand and share ethical initiatives in the wine world - empowering wine lovers to make informed decisions.
